I agree, its terrible now. I have like 10-50 fps too, max 70 in some areas + horrible freezes when u cant do anything.
I hope they'll fix it asap

After installing newest graphics card drivers and editing cfg using some commands from my cod 4 cfg it's much better. Still got these freezes, but fps r like 50-90.

does anyone have any problems while playing black ops on the PC? I see loads and loads of reviews saying that this game laggs pretty bad on single and multiplayer, it stutters, has laggy servers etc etc

Just spoke with Alex G., he seems to indicate that the source of the lag might be with the GamerServer server config.

Issue is with the sv_maxrate, currently on all servers it is set to 5000 (because of consoles I would assume) it should be set to around 25000 for PC.

Therefore most pc users are finding a poor online expierience.

I have been on with gameservers all day and their tech team.

We tested the different rate on our server as a fix (via the tech team) and guess what, absolutely perfect.

Our server has actually just been changed back, of course they can't edit the servers, They have submitted a request to whitelist the command sv_maxrate for all users to activision to be able to edit to what they desire. (They didn't want to set all servers to it by default because they believe people will have bandwidth issues).

Just so you know they have limited results in the in game server browser to a few hundred servers to stop it overloading. Leaving most people unable to find their own servers!

Also don't know if you know yet but there it no connect/reconnect and similar commands in the game and the addfavourite command does not work.

I didn't just move my cod 4 cfg to black ops, I edited some commands in BO cfg using my cod 4 cfg (i mean it helped me a bit, when i didnt know how to set some command)

Found thise out.

Copy across your cod4 cfg. Remove all ui_ command froms ur cod4 cfg. Play with high FPS apparantly. Il try it now and update with result!

Got the game this morning....playin with about 70-90 fps. Think this game is just more demanding than people expected.

But yea....lovin the game so far. If your having problems with freezes / laggs then make sure sync every frame is off, make sure your refresh rate matches your monitors refresh rate and IMPORTANTLY put a cap on your fps. If your average fps is around 80 then cap it at 80 or 85. Having a high cap fucks your game up atm apparently (unless ur pc handles high fps).

just finished single player.. the game has some bugs, screen sometimes turns totally yellow in the main menu or if i play at the resolution of my monitor i can't see anything while aiming and the sky is flashing the whole time -.-

I barely connect to any server, it's so fucking annoying, and the fps lagg is just bullshit
